The Male Lead Suddenly Became My Lapdog after I Annulled Our Engagement

Chapter 236 - 236 Drawing Blood

His clothes and hands were stained red with He Miao’s blood. Jing Yan’s eyes were red as he leaned his nose close to her neck, breathing in the sweet milky scent on her body.

When they arrived at the hospital, the driver immediately got out of the car and opened the back door. Jing Yan carried He Miao and jogged into the hospital. When the nurses saw the scissors on her shoulder, they hurriedly found a bed for Jing Yan to put her on, then pushed her into the emergency room.

After an hour, the doctor came out, took off his mask, and looked at Jing Yan anxiously. “Are you the patient’s family? The patient has lost a lot of blood and needs an emergency blood transfusion. The hospital’s blood bank doesn’t have any stock right now, so we must find someone to donate blood immediately, otherwise the patient’s life will be in danger.”

“Mine! You can use mine!” Jing Yan lost his mind and rushed to the doctor. His face was so dark that he looked like the King of Hell. Even the doctor, who was used to seeing life and death, was startled by his look.

The doctor came back to his senses and nodded. “Then follow the nurse to test your blood type. If the match is successful, we can transfuse the blood.”

Jing Yan coldly looked at the nurse behind the doctor and said, “Lead the way, quickly!”

“Oh, okay!” The nurse had never seen such a scary man before. His face was so dark that it was scary, as if he wanted to swallow them alive. She quickly lowered her head and did not dare to look anymore. She walked in front and led the man to the blood-drawing window.

Jing Yan immediately rolled up his sleeves to let the nurse draw his blood. The test results came out quickly, and fortunately, the match was a success. Jing Yan let out a long sigh of relief. Without even blinking, he put his arm into the window. His terrifying posture made it seem as if he wanted the doctor to draw all his blood so that he could save the girl he loved.

He Miao was rescued in the end, and her wound was properly bandaged. However, due to the excessive blood loss, she was temporarily unable to wake up.

Jing Yan’s blood had just been drawn, so his face was a little pale. When Chen Zhao finished his business and rushed over, he was shocked to see Jing Yan’s appearance. He asked worriedly, “President Jing, what’s wrong? Why do you look so pale? Do you want to take a rest on the bed next to us?”

“No need,” Jing Yan held He Miao’s hand tightly and asked in a deep voice, “Where is he?”

Chen Zhao immediately said seriously, “I’ve already broke his hands and sent him to the police station as you ordered. The guy kept saying that he’s innocent. But don’t worry, I’ve already arranged everything. No police will come to you.”

“Well done.” Jing Yan turned his head slightly, narrowed his eyes, and ordered, “Don’t let Grandpa know about this for now. Send two people to the vet to take care of Onion. Let me know if anything happens.”

“Yes!” Chen Zhao was supposed to leave immediately after reporting the work, but he was really worried about Jing Yan’s health. He had worked for the president for so long, but he had never seen Jing Yan look so bad. “Why don’t you take a nap? I’ll help you look after Miss He.”

“I’m fine. I just drew a little blood.” Jing Yan turned back and stared unblinkingly at He Miao, who had her eyes tightly shut, praying that she would wake up soon.

Chen Zhao was not as calm as he was. Judging from Jing Yan’s current appearance, he did not look like he had only taken a little blood. “Then I’ll buy you some nutritional supplements. You should eat something to nourish yourself. Otherwise, when Miss He wakes up and sees how haggard you are now, she will definitely be worried about you.”

Jing Yan was about to refuse, but after hearing Chen Zhao’s last sentence, he nodded and said, “Okay, you can go then.”

Chen Zhao’s face lit up with joy. He thought to himself, ‘Miss He is still the most powerful. She can actually change his president’s mind so easily. It seems that if I encounter any difficulties in the future, I can mention Miss He more so that I won’t always be scolded by him.’

After Chen Zhao left, the ward fell into silence again. It was already past midnight, but Jing Yan did not seem tired at all. He only felt deep self-blame.

If he had not suggested that they bring He Miao out, she might not have been kidnapped at all, and she would not have been injured and tortured.

If he had not carelessly forgotten about the board, that person would not have found a chance to take He Miao away.

It was all his fault. He really deserved to die. If he could, Jing Yan was willing to lie in He Miao’s place and suffer all the torture for her.

As time passed, He Miao still showed no signs of waking up.

In the dark night, a whimper suddenly came from the ward where nothing could be seen. Jing Yan held He Miao’s hand and pressed his forehead against the back of her hand. His heart ached as if it had been stabbed countless times, and his tears silently fell on the white bed.

“Jing Yan, are you crying?”

A weak voice suddenly sounded in front of him. Jing Yan raised his head abruptly. He did not even bother to wipe his tears. He raised his hand to caress He Miao’s haggard face in pleasant surprise, and said in a trembling voice, “Miaomiao, you’re finally awake.”
