Fallen Fate Online

Chapter 217 Hand Of Flame

For every Player, Status was perhaps the most important part that separated Fallen Fate Online from the real world. When the Player saw his power in numbers, his level, and other data, he knew that it was just a Game, a big program made up of zeros and ones.

The Player knew that all this was just entertainment, at least someone could make money from it, but nothing more, it was nothing serious. However, recently everything changed when people found out that Fallen Fate Online gave real superpowers.

However, for most people, especially those who hadn\'t used Chaos Coin yet or didn\'t even know how to obtain it, it wasn\'t a big deal. Such people still completed quests, checked their progress with Status, then returned to the real world a little stronger physically.

However, the more the Player achieved, the more he connected to the world of the Fallen Fate. Zayne and Elein were prime examples, as they had powerful skills, had already used Chaos Coins, and had even learned how to open portals as well as use equipment from the Fallen Fate.

They had practically become residents of the Fallen Fate, as there seemed to be no difference between them and the people who were born in this world. The only difference was the Status window, which was a reminder that for the Player, it was still a game despite the fact that it gave superpowers.

In that case, the only thing left to do was to get rid of the Status or change it into the form it was used by the inhabitants of this world.

Creating such a change was impossible, just like giving Players the ability to use skills on their homeworld, however, only until Chaos entered it.

Only Chaos Energy could change everything, make incompatible things become one, and open up new possibilities. However, Chaos was not at all a good thing for this world, for the inhabitants of the Fallen Fate feared this entity for a reason.

Whoooooooooosh.

Streams of scarlet flames engulfed the entire room, but they didn\'t damage anything, instead, they tried to block all the exits so there was no way Zayne could escape from there.

"What the hell! How am I supposed to lock it down? Fuck!" Zayne cursed, trying to get rid of the open system window with streams of flames coming out of it.

He was failing, it was useless since Chaos had shown up here for a reason. Chaos always had some purpose, and Zayne had just reached the right moment. He didn\'t know it, but it was a logical extension of the fact that he had passed the test by being able to open portals between worlds.

Crackle. Crackle. Crackle.

Out of the status screen, as if it was some sort of portal, came several flaming hands that grasped Zayne tightly.

"Ah? No! Get off me!" Zayne exclaimed, trying to shake off the hands, to somehow loosen their grip, but all to no avail, there seemed to be no way out of this situation.

Whoooooosh.

Scarlet wings opened behind Zayne, his palms were covered with blue energy and many wounds opened on his body. He used all his skills that could somehow strengthen him, but once the flaming hands grabbed his legs, he couldn\'t even take a step.

\'Shit! Shit! Shi! The whole room is in flames! Doesn\'t anyone see this? No! It can\'t be! Solomon has great instincts and a lot of experience! If I can hold out a little longer, he will definitely help me!\' Zayne internally exclaimed, trying to resist with all his might.

...

Step. Step. Step.

Solomon and Rea were walking along the long and empty corridor of the academy. They were discussing something, mostly how to prepare for the tournament. As much as Zayne had hoped, Solomon felt nothing, as if Chaos Energy had completely hidden itself and him.

"Father, what place do you think me and Zayne will take in the tournament?" Rea asked with interest in her eyes.

Solomon glanced at her, "Hmm? Why do you ask? Aren\'t you confident in your abilities?"

Rea puffed up her cheeks as she clenched her hands into fists, "I\'m just curious what you think! I want to rank high!"

Solomon smiled bitterly with a slight nod, "I see, you shouldn\'t be mad at me, but how about I ask you the same question? Who do you think will go next, you or Zayne?"

Rea sighed, "Zayne... Obviously, he\'ll get better results than me. To be honest, I think he might even win the tournament, and I might end up being one of the last ones. After all, I only recently got First Ring and it\'s thanks to you training me hard."

Solomon nodded. There was truth in Rea\'s words, but only partially.I think you should take a look at

"Don\'t be so self-critical. If you try hard enough, you can easily enter the Top-10 or even the Top-5. You have a talent, a real gift for magic that most people don\'t have. You just need to accept it and learn how to use it." Solomon said confidently, then he put his hand on her shoulder, "After all you are my daughter."

Rea nodded, then her gaze grew darker, "Yeah, I\'m your daughter, but doesn\'t that mean that I got my talent because you\'re my father? It just means I got lucky."

Solomon took a deep breath, "Rea, you shouldn\'t say that. Especially since it\'s not true."

"Agh...?" Rea gave him a questioning look. It was obvious to her that if Solomon was her father then she had gotten some of his talent. That was how it happened in other families, and that was how it happened in her case.

"Well, you didn\'t get your talent from me, but from your mother." Solomon pronounced with a complicated expression, squeezing Rea\'s shoulder.

"What...? Was my mom a mage?" Rea muttered in disbelief.

She had never seen her mom in person, only in pictures since her mom had died during childbirth. This kind of thing was rare, but it still happened all over the world every day, and sometimes someone was unlucky. Then, it was Solomon who had to face this disaster.

The happiest day of his life also became the worst as he lost his favorite woman but finally became a father.

"Yeah, she had amazing abilities. Rea, you always tried to imitate me, and I made mistakes too trying to teach you a spell centered on destructive power. I thought you took my talent for yourself, but you didn\'t, I realized it a long time ago, but I couldn\'t tell you... You know, we\'ve had a pretty strained relationship the last few years." Solomon said, looking intently at Rea, with a sincere look.

After a short pause, Rea nodded with a meaningful look.

"In that case, what am I good at? What talent did my mom have?" Rea asked in a serious voice, "Please tell me."

Solomon nodded, "Containment spells. Your mother knew many attack and defense spells, but her barriers weren\'t particularly strong, and her attacks weren\'t as devastating as mine. However, if we were fighting and she attacked first, I wouldn\'t be able to move afterward. She would easily immobilize me."

Rea\'s eyes went wide.

"Fine... Then I\'ll learn a suitable spell in the remaining two days before the tournament. I\'ve always liked it better than attacking with all my might."

"Good choice. I\'ll help you with your choice tomorrow then." Solomon nodded as a happy smile appeared on his face like a simple man who finally had a weight lifted off his shoulders.

"Khm." Suddenly a cough sounded, then a silhouette with a long cane in his hand came out from around the corner.

"I\'m sorry to interrupt such a touching moment, I just didn\'t expect to run into you right here. In an empty hallway, in an academy at night under the light of the moon." Erel calmly said before bowing slightly showing Solomon respect.

"Oh, it\'s no big deal. In fact, you showed up just in time, I think my daughter and I need a little pause." Solomon replied, with a nod of his head.

"Ughum." Rea agreed.

"Mr. Erel, are you taking a walk? If you would like, tomorrow I will have one of the students show you the most beautiful places in our academy." Solomon offered as he held out his hand.

Erel shook his head, "There is no need for that one. Honestly, all I want to see is a tournament, there\'s always someone interesting with amazing talent among the new generation."

"Sure. I\'m sure this year\'s tournament will be unique! Since Travellers will be participating in it! It wasn\'t possible before, but now new opportunities have opened up." Solomon said with excitement.

Erel sighed, "You\'re right. Speaking of Travellers, I was just looking for you to help me contact Zayne Fellen. He\'s at the academy right now, right?"

Solomon and Rea exchanged glances, "Yes, we\'ve only recently seen each other. Please follow us."

"Thank you." Erel nodded, slowly heading after Solomon.

Though he was a Crusader, even he didn\'t feel that a hundred meters ahead was a room covered in scarlet flames. The young man in the center had long since lost consciousness, while the scarlet hands holding him tightly were dragging him down into the fiery portal as if it were a gateway to hell.
