MMORPG: Crowd Control

Chapter 102 Team Up

It took a few seconds for Lei Zhen to pacify his emotion after getting frightened by Griselda.

Who would have thought she would be standing around the ministry of defense?

"What are you doing here?" Lei Zhen said calmly, acting as if his previous fright was gone.

"Nothing, I\'m just standing here." Griselda shrugged.

"Is that so?" Lei Zhen didn\'t ask further and proceeded to leave the building.

Unfortunately though, wherever he went, Griselda would somehow magically be standing in front of him.

It was as if she had become a ghost, stalking him and haunting him wherever he went.

At first, Lei Zhen didn\'t pay it mind and continued with his businesses, but when Griselda constantly showed up in front of him, even a fool can tell she was doing this on purpose.

"Speak! What do you want to say?" Lei Zhen walked toward her and asked.

"As I\'ve said before, nothing." Griselda shrugged and gave the same response as previously.

"..."

If Lei Zhen didn\'t realize it from the beginning, then he definitely realized it now. Griselda was here to take some petty revenge against him.

And as for what kind of revenge, he was still clueless at this moment.

"You better say what you want, or else-"

"Or else what? Lock me up?" Griselda interrupted, showing a slight smirk on her face.

"You can stop pretending. I know you\'re a player and not some NPC." She added.

"Player? NPC? What are those terms?" Lei Zhen asked in a confused tone.

"Your acting sucks as much as your personality," Griselda said with a deadpan expression.

And she continued, "You can try to pretend as much as you want, but the clothes you wear are already a mistake. Would some real chancellor wear these kinds of clothes? Not to mention, you seemed to know my abilities very well which should be unknown to NPC. Thus, it\'s clear that you have seen the interview before and investigated my character online."

Hearing her long-winded explanation of her deduction, Lei Zhen was silent for a moment.

"You stated your abilities in the document that Princess Kate showed me." Lei Zhen said, hoping to resolve that doubt of her.

Unfortunately, this was a bait dropped by Griselda as she smirked evilly.

"Hah, the ability I used last time was not mentioned at all in the document. And only a dishonorable player like you would attack another player during their casting time."

Before Lei Zhen could respond further, Griselda shook her head. "Stop giving excuses. It\'ll only make you look dumber."

Now that things have gone to this, Lei Zhen found it pointless to hide his identity any longer.

Taking off his mask, he sighed softly. "There, you\'ve seen my appearance now? Are you happy?"

"Who said I wanted to see your appearance?" Griselda twitched her mouth.

"I merely wanted to team up with you because I have a mission that requests me to capture the black mage. And I\'m sure you have something similar if you are commanding George to head to the swamp."

"You\'ve eavesdropped on our conversation?"

"Not eavesdropping, just being clever. You can have the status of a chancellor, so why can\'t I have my information channel?"

"That makes sense…" Lei Zhen nodded his head.

The game\'s been out for 4 years, so it shouldn\'t be a surprise for Griselda to create an information channel in Yors Castle.

"So what do you say? Team up or not?" Griselda asked.

Seeing the hesitation on Lei Zhen\'s face, Griselda sighed softly and knew she had to confess something.

"I know you are suspicious of me, so I\'ll be honest for once. Yes, I\'m the one that infiltrated the black mage base to look for something, but couldn\'t find it since the black mage returned unexpectedly."

pαndα`noνɐ1--сoМ "So my intuition was correct." Lei Zhen clasped his hand, feeling great for guessing it right.

He had truly thought he might have been too paranoid and needed some therapy, but it looks like he was correct the whole time.

"Anyway, I\'m pretty sure you are a new player since you don\'t even know the crux of this mission." Griselda suddenly said.

"Crux of this mission?"

"Mhmm, we aren\'t supposed to leave this task to the NPC when the black mage is somewhat connected to the whole Yors Castle storyline. When I joined the Princess Kate faction and became one of the high-ranking personnel, I received a mission to assist you to capture the black mage." Griselda explained, sharing her mission with him to prove her words.

And sure enough, her mission was indeed about her assisting him.

A system prompt cannot be falsified given the security system of Magnolia.

If one even tries to hack the system, one will be permanently banned from playing Magnolia. This was one of the famous news stories that he had read about in which some hackers attempted to hack, only to end up as an embarrassment.

"Since you have this mission, then it means that I have to make my way to the swamp whether I want to or not, right?" Lei Zhen signed exhaustively.

He thought assigning others to do the mission for him was clever, but apparently, it wasn\'t. Magnolia knew there must be lazy players out there so they designed the mission in this way.

"Yup, so are you going to team up with me or have me stalking you every now and then?" Griselda asked, giving him two options.

"The name\'s Lei Zhen," Lei Zhen said and extended his hand.

Griselda smiled briefly as she shook his hand, "Happy cooperation for us then, Lei Zhen."

By giving his name out, it meant that Lei Zhen had decided to work with her.

"Anyway, it\'s getting pretty late so we shall start tomorrow morning." Lei Zhen said, not willing to head out now.

Griselda nodded her head. "I have some more information regarding the swamp of Lux Forest, so give me your phone number. I\'ll send it to you later on."

Thus, the two of them exchanged contact and logged off.
