Transmigrated into a Parvenu's Ex-wife in the '90s

Chapter 227 'You.. you are keeping me?' (4)

Another worry that Shu Yan had was that the nanny would need to take time-off often. It’d be a hassle for her to arrange for things on her end.

“Yes, everything is all taken care of. I’ve sold my pigs before I came and slaughtered the chickens and ducks, dehydrated them, and gave half of them to Xiao Juan and the other half I sent to my daughter,” said Zhang-jieslightly awkwardly.

Shu Yan nodded and the topics slowly got to her daughter. When her daughter was brought up, Aunty became talkative all of a sudden. She talked about how mature her daughter was ever since she was a child. She was both docile and hardworking. That it was worth all of her effort now that her daughter was able to get into City Nan University....

Half an hour later, Aunty returned to the kitchen and work on work on her dough and make the noodles.

When the noodles were done, she boiled water and stirred fried the noodles mix at the same time. It wasn’t long before a tasty aroma came from the kitchen. The two gluttonous kittens playing inside their room were drawn out by the smell.

“That smells so good, Mommy!”

“Are you hungry? It’s almost ready,” said Shu Yan with a smile.

“Eh? You are not the one cooking, Mommy?” asked JingJing softly when she looked over a saw a woman that she had never seen before working in the kitchen.

“Mommy hired a chef today.” Shu Yan had them go wash their hand while she walked inside of the kitchen and brought out the seafood that was left from this afternoon. The seafood could not be kept overnight.

Aunty brought out three bowls of noodles in two trips. There was a thick layer of noodle mix on top of each of the bowls and they smelled delicious.

“Try them. If you like them, there’s more in the pot.” Aunty rubbed her hands on the apron repeatedly. She was very nervous.

“Aunty, sit down and join us.” Seeing that she had no intention of joining them, Shu Yan dragged over a chair and have her sit with them.

“No, no. I can just eat in the kitchen.” Nannies should not eat with the employer and her family. It wasn’t right.

“It’s alright. Our family is just the three of us. Sit with us.” Shu Yan made her sit and brought the other bowl of noodles out from the kitchen. “These seafood and meat were leftovers from the afternoon. I don’t know if you are okay with seafood. Help yourself. They will just go to waste if we can’t finish them.” Having said that, Shu Yan put several large pieces of meats into Aunty’s bowl.

“That’s enough. That’s enough.” Aunty declined after she was pleasantly surprised.

The noodles had a very good texture. Shu Yan felt that they were very similar to her own mother’s and the noodle mix was better than that of her mother’s. They were delectable. Aunty didn’t lie. This was for sure a skill well sought after back in her village.

The two kids had already buried their heads inside the bowls. Shu Yan peeled some seafood for them and put them inside the small plates next to them. “Slow down. You don’t want to choke.”

Aunty let out a sigh of relief when she saw the two kids enjoying her cooking.

After dinner, Aunty quickly cleaned up the dining room and the kitchen. She was a bit nervous when she came back out and saw Shu Yan sitting on the couch.

“Have a seat, Aunty.” Shu Yan smiled at her friendlily. “Your cooking is very tasty. We will have to trouble you for three meals a day, cleaning of the house, and also dropping off and picking up the kids in the future.”

Aunty paused for a little bit. “Am... Am I hired?”
